I'd highly recommend "Red, The Next Generation of American Writers --
Teenage Girls -- and What Fires Up Their Lives Today," edited by Amy Goldwasser (Hudson Street Press, a division of Penguin Books). It's a marvelous collection of 58 essays by teenage girls from all walks of life across the country. It's a great intergenerational discussion book. It was Newsweek's Dec. 17 pick for book of the week and Family Circle's pick for the Nov. Book of the Week. It just came out in November. Check it out on Amazon.com to see editorial and reader reviews.
